I heard a chuckle as a singular lightbulb turned on above me. Despite how dim it was, it actually hurt my eyes. A shadow of a head appeared over me.... It took my sore eyes a moment to adjust. It was Emily and she had a smirk on her face, only this time, it made her both adorable and terrifying."Did you have a nice nap, sleepy head?" she teased.I could only manage a groan. Of course I knew what I was doing, knew what it was causing, but where was the fun in just letting you have your way? About three days before Christmas eve I leave an invitation on your desk. Later on in the day you find the invitation, accepting the invite to my Christmas party. Jerry, I lean over and whisper in your ear late that same day, while you are working at your desk, meet me in my office. You catch a glimpse of that familiar twinkle in my eye and follow me. I can't complain about results like that.I can easily afford to part with a couple million and avoid incurring a large debt. But the way he talked you would have thought I wanted to spend his money. I cut him off and asked him how much time he'll need to access the funds and transfer them to my checking account.He sighed and said, "Less than a week. Call me and let me know the final amount. I'll transfer the funds to your checking account within three working days."I thanked him and finally got. If it wasn’t for three putts on the first hole, Mark would have broken eighty. He played with another member and his two guests. They were all older than Mark and were either retired or would be retiring shortly. Their golf games weren’t great with their scores being just over one hundred. They were pleasant company and highly complimentary of Mark’s golfing ability. Mark had accepted their offer to meet with them in the club for a drink after the round.The lounge in the club was rather empty.
