We would all have dinner and a night out and then she would always head back to her motel room where she would drink herself silly and pass out.. One night she hadnt called us to check in so my wife got worried and asked if I would run down to the motel to check on her because we had to do that from time to time knowing how much she drinks.. So the motel was only a few miles. We did pick up several more people who wanted to join us, but not as many as I had hoped. Bill said that it was likely that, by now, we had all of the people of Albany who were going to join. If that were true, and I had no reason to doubt him, then we had better concentrate our training efforts on the people we had and not worry about gathering more.Naomi and her scouts took the new people to the depository to pick up their weapons. When they returned, I asked Naomi to find the needed squad. The singing had stopped, and all was silent, no one talked, everybody looked straight ahead, towards the square's other end, in expectance of an event that I knew nothing about.Slowly I moved through the crowd, in the direction in which everyone was looking, people making room for me to let me pass, until I had reached a point from were I could see what had to be a kind of sanctuary. As the square sloped down in that direction from here on, I could see it quite clearly over the crowd's.
