Well, once we all got set up our DM read over the character sheet Linda and Holly had prepared, and with a few minor changes found it acceptable. Lind... was now Elisha, a female half-elf thief. And we were then introduced to Mara, the sister of Ariel.That is when it struck me, Holly was taking her names from TV cartoons! Ariel was the female sorcerer from Thundaar, and Mara had the same role in Blackstar. How did I not see that before? My respect for her geekyness went up a notch after.
