As we finished dinner the band came on and the wall around the bar seating provided enough berm that we could still talk without shouting, we just had...to be more direct. We ordered our third drink when Sherry, our flirty waitress, came by to get our plates.She looked right at me and asked if she could “do a pick-up for me” acting as if Mel wasn’t there. Mel asked for the Ladies Room and after getting directions stood up and stepped on Sherry’s toe as she left, giving an exaggerated, “Oh, I’m SO. A fairly obvious question really, but he knew the answer wouldn’t be so obvious. “I can never be sure,” Vivienne confessed. “When I woke up this morning I was living in a semi on the other side of town, but whether I still am I don’t know. The number of times I’ve gone home to where I thought I lived only to find that the set of keys I’d got don’t fit in the door! And then when I wake up, I can never be sure where it’ll be, who I’ll have been sleeping with and where I’m supposed to be going to. " Jane said."But she's so damn scared." Bob told her. "She's lost so much strength. She feels so vulnerable. She knows what the guy's will think when they look at her." I guess she's probably right about that." Jane admitted. "But she's really no different than most other pretty girls. They all have that problem." Most girls don't spend the first 27 years as a male."
