I could have been mean about it but I didn’t hate her, in fact, I loved her. But I loved what she had been to me before, what she was to me now some...ow was just…dead? In exchange I got our little cabin up by the lake, we had bought it for an investment and to use in the Summer months. There was one full acre, the cabin was small but had a bedroom off the main room, and a tiny bath with shower. It looked like a log cabin from the outside, the outer walls were just pine slabs. The entire inside. When I get to the cafeteria I am pleasantly surprised to see Julia sitting with Jason and Kathy. When I get to the table Julia stands up to greet me with a kiss before I sit down. I don’t even get seated before she says, “Jerid is having a party this Saturday. You should come.”Jason is an asshole and a bully.
