Since there were fifty of us in the class and the test required each of us to speak on a prepared topic for ten minutes, the 'midterm' took 500 minute.... Eight hours and twenty minutes. The slot for the final was only two hours, so the previous three classes and the first three classes after spring break were all dedicated to the midterm. If we could have just gone to the class during which we had to speak, it would have been fine. But part of the public speaking course was listening. We had to.
