I didn’t have long to wait. The snow did come, but it was mostly wet mush down here in Houston’s humid bayou air. She adjusted her tent a bit, bo...led up a good deal of hot tea water and seemed resolved to tough it out. I started to become obsessed with whether she was actually still out there or not and if so was she ‘ok’, and at length I grabbed a blanket and pillow and spent the evening and a very night long lying right next to the doorway. I’m sure we heard each other moving about and even. After doing her business she grabbed a quick shower and went down for breakfast. Breakfast was light, her typical mix of fruit, yogurt and tea. Jen went upstairs to dress. She was tempted to play, but had plans for at least part of the day. It only took minutes to dress, deciding what to wear took far longer. None of August’s clothes seemed suitable, so she ended up wearing a T-shirt from two years ago, washed thin and cropped high as soon as she found the scissors, a pair of her loose jeans. There were four doors exiting to various parts of the building, and we had to decide where to go first. From our previous times inside the mansion, we knew where two of the doors went, but the other two were virtually a complete mystery. One probably headed for the cellars, but which one. It occurred to me that the most likely place to hold the king in captivity was. Sally and Veronica waited outside for a few minutes before going in and hitting on the two bouncers.
