After that hours passed. It was twelve noon when she left and it’s almost seven o’clock now. Feelings began to boil up I was going crazy. Then ... got a text saying sorry she was so long and she was on her way home.It was just starting to get dark when she pulled in the driveway. I was filled with anxiety but I kept my cool. She didn’t look all disheveled or anything. She kissed me when she came in and smiled. I probed with, “Well did you have a good visit?” She said yes that they both. It was a specially designed spell that I had developed on my own, and I was proud of it. So far it had stood up to anything cast my way, in the form of an attack.I had even turned the dangerous "Death of Soul" spell, which someone had at cast at me, just last month. That was high magic, indeed. I had not learned much about the spell, as yet. It was a 'dark magic' spell... sometimes known as 'black magic'.As I thought about it, it occurred to me I might have angered a powerful black wizard.. Laurel went to the small writing table and wrote out a note to Lady Carolyn saying she would be unable to attend the opera with them, she thanked Lady Carolyn for her assistance while in town saying she would be leaving the following week. Smiling widely to herself Laurel wrote to Izzie and Marti'en saying she had gotten Zinmer and that she should be home next week. She also wrote to Virlane thanking him for all his help and the introduction to Mr. Tetly and what been accomplished so far.Laurel. “About 34 hours,” she said calculating. “It’s Wednesday morning.”“My God,” I said. “I need to check in. Riley will be panicked.”“Don’t tell me Riley is your wife,” Peg moaned.“No, my partner,” I answered.“Thank goodness,” she said and rolled on top of me with another kiss. “I did not haul your ass out of that river and thaw your freezing body with my own for someone else.”I blame it on the pollution in the Chicago River affecting my brain. I couldn’t for the life of me sort out my priorities.
