At 5:00 pm we were off duty for a half hour. Most of the staff went to the pool for a swim. At 5:45 pm we had to be back at the flagpole for camp retr...at in full Class A uniform. After dinner the staff had evening programs to run.We worked about fifteen hours a day. I loved teaching the younger scouts. The work was hard, but I loved it! I hoped the camp director would hire me the next summer.One thing was hard about scout camp. You had no privacy at all. I shared a tent with another CIT. It was. A man wasn't expected to cry and I tried to keep my tears atleast till we came home where I could hide in my room. I cried a lotthese days and during burial I'd dropped not a single tear standing allthe time by side of my father. There were we - the Grabowski family - thefather and the son.
