I introduce myself to Jon. He is charming, and very respectful of me. He seems to know the situation between Chris and I. We small talk about the conf...rence, our jobs, anything to avoid the inevitable. Chris excuses herself to make a phone call.In her absence, I confront Jon. I tell him I know of his desires for Chris. He nods and explains that Chris has told him about the agreement she and I have made. In fact, he says he's relieved of how open her and my relationship is. I appreciate Jon's. Adam could see the punishment had been inflicted a couple of days ago.“Why?” asked Adam“Cos I was lippy to him” replied. "Aren't you going to wait for me? It'll justtake me a few minutes to change."He looked irritated and impatient. "I'll meet you down there.I wanna make some friends today." That's fine, but..." I knew what he was thinking. He didn'twant his old aunt tagging along, getting in the way. I actuallydidn't mind; I was young once, too. What worried me was the kindof "friends" he might make, if I wasn't there to advise him, butthere was no sense putting the cart before the horse, so with asigh I agreed. I started to pack his books and laptop when Carrie stormed into the room. She screamed at me that if he wanted his things he himself would have to come and get them. I calmly told her that I had promised to get them for him since he did not feel safe after she attacked him.Carrie started to run at me and was very threatening. I caught her and spun her around. She was fighting me hard, like a feral cat caught in a net. She kicked, scratched, and even tried to bite me. I got her in a pretty good.
