“Get the hell away from me!” I hollered and was shocked how loud and high-pitched my voice was.To his credit, he immediately retreated again as if...I had slapped him. “Alright! Alright. No worries. I’m staying right up here. Not going anywhere. No look, no touch. That’s fair enough.”All was quiet after that for a bit, except for the muffled noises of the continuing party somewhere down-cave, and the sound of my own blood rushing through my head at elevated speed after that short lapse in. ”Col sat for a moment, his eyes searching my face. “Are you going to be OK if that’s what happens?”“Can you see a different ending? I don’t think I can.”I could see concern mounting in Col’s face and he repeated his question. “Are you going to be OK reading this? Grandma Desai had shown me how to add a pinch or two of a few of the spices to add a little exotic flavor to tea. We all loved sitting in the back corner table of the restaurant, sipping chai, delicious hot, steamy mugs of chai with real cream. My concoction, over ice, was just a little departure from the iced tea that is a southern staple. I was happy that I actually made something that people really like.So we're all out at the pavilion.
