I must admit we looked really good in that picture. Hell, I don't know how many ladies I was in a picture with that evening. Many of my parent's frien...s asked me to pose with them as well as some of the other girls I had known when I was in school. I really had a lot of fun that night. I got propositioned several times too. I was even surprised about that. Three married ladies let me know they would be happy to visit me in their home while their husband was at work. Ab told me later that the water was good if it was settled, but if the mud on the bottom was stirred up, anything drinking from it would die.I ended up selecting a place Ab told me was called Soap Springs for our camp. The ground around the spring was marshy, but otherwise it wasn't so bad. There was a nice grove of cottonwood trees, so we had plenty of firewood.I hadn't seen any buffalo dung since we crossed the Platte, so I assumed we were coming out of buffalo country. Ab later confirmed. A few minutes later she reappeared with omelettes, soufléed potatoes and two salads, and sat down again at the table.After taking a bite of the omelette, tears came to Marcel's eyes. "Cindy, this is the finest omelette in the world! You must be an outstanding banker because you could make a fortune as a chef! No one is in your class.
