And I was going to go through with what I planned regardless.My wife would be home in 30 ...inutes or less so I loaded everything into the car and waited for her patiently. As she parked and then walked over to me, all I did was give her a hug and a kiss and guided her into the car. She sat down and just looked surprised. Getting in the car and driving away I told her we were checking into a HOtel, checking in and dinner and clubbing. "All you have to do is get her here. I can quit and be a stay at homemom. I would love it and you wouldn't miss more than a couple weeks ofwork."Jo looked at me like the light had come on. Hugging me she said, "Ididn't see the obvious. You are my wife; of course you should stay homewith the baby. I had my brain stuck in the, I'm carrying the kid, Ihave to take care of it rut. Thank you Shirley, this is going to be somuch fun. I'm going to be a daddy!"I was overjoyed she was keeping our baby,. They would come to summer camp, take lessons, practice and still have time to enjoy the camp. They had all the normal activities of a camp on top of the band practice. There were crafts, hiking, swimming, horseback riding and so on. (It was the swimming and horses part that became my favorites.)The man who had been hired to be the life guard while the campers were swimming had been involved in an auto accident shortly before camp was to start so they were running around looking for a qualified. Nothing nearby in this strange place was open and we still had to put up our fucking tents. I do not think any of us finished his beer and we went to sleep after getting our affairs settled.The next day, we went to the club to eat our lunch. It was noon on Saturday. We still had two more shifts to work at that place, before returning to our base on Monday. We were on a four day liberty for Labor Day and had to report back for duty Tuesday morning. After eating some awful food, we went back.
