Jeri saw a shadow on the wall. She prepared to jump. The creaturestopped and then a jaw full of teeth lunged at her. Jeri leaped back.The teeth closed...futilely on empty air.Jeri backed toward the end of the lockers away from Dave. The thingdidn't seem to know Dave was there.The dinosaur's claws dug into the metal lockers, leaving gouges wherethey pierced the thin metal. It climbed up onto the lockers with Jeristalking her. It howled an eerie cry that raised her hackles and sentchills down her. ’I nodded to the door. ‘Is that why you have the bodyguards?’‘Yes, I have had to undertake extra precautions.’I sat back, stunned by what I had heard. ‘But there was extra securityeverywhere; soldiers, police. They seemed to be expecting something tohappen. Would that be the case if you were the target?’‘James, I don't know the answer to that. Thailand is a dangerous placeright now. Anything can happen here these days. I may be paranoid, butthese are bad times.’ He gestured to the door. ‘I will. ‘Don’t remind me. I’m old. It’s the big 2-6.’ Desiree laughed. ‘You don’t look so old. Maybe you can hang on for a couple more years before things really start to go down hill. No one rides for free.” and laughs again patting his big belly.I laugh, because I know the phrase as a joke, but he leans over in the seat and says real.
