I sat most of the day in the clothier's store and I tried on tuxes andtook them off again. I swear he measured me at least a dozen times as heworked o... one fabric or the other. It wasn't until two in the afternoon Iwas told the tux would be ready in one week.After the clothier I went a few doors down to the hobby shop. As I lookedaround I knew there was nothing in the store that I knew anything about.There were a few things I would have liked to have but I knew I couldn'tdo the hobby justice. " You really want us to do this?" I asked.My niece nodded.I looked at my handsome husband and said, "Its gonna be up to you, hon. Idont mind wearing a tux." Do we need to do this?" He asked."I'd really appreciate it." she pleaded.I grinned at him, and said, "I would do anything I could to make thiswedding a success. and I could ... make it worth your while, after."He smiled at that, and said, "Okay. I'm in."So a few weeks later, we went to a costume shop, and found me a tux thatwould fit me,. I gathered up all the odds and ends they were sending us home with and followed them down, riding an elevator.I ran to get the car and pulled in front of the doors where Sue and Stevie were waiting for me. When Sue was at the car, I took Stevie and placed him in the infant car seat and strapped him in. Next I helped Sue into the back seat to sit next to the baby.Driving home, I felt the weight of the additional responsibility of having a tiny baby to protect. Just watching Sue's face made me. More so over the last stop he'd chosen for that evening. It was a nice place to watch a sunset he mused. He slept free, under the stars, and soundly. He rose, without an alarm clock, to a breathless sunrise, completely renewed. A little stiff, but his warm ups, a nice downhill descent and a slow first couple of miles would take care of that. He was back on the road an hour later. He was also hungry that morning as he stretched his legs before an easy coast back down the small mountain. Ravenous.
