I had been good enough in high school to start every game for four years but not good enough to make the next level, at least not at the Big Ten level...and going down to some small school just to play football didn't make a lot of sense. Our high school team, the Mustangs, has done a lot for me, starting with time management and the discipline that comes from it. My life had been ordered and purposeful.
