Perhaps we can chat before bed.” I gave an exaggerated yawn midway through my sentence for effect. She nodded and I let her get back to her things.I retired to my room and hastily got ready for bed, first stripping naked, then after using the toilet in the ensuite. I had the feeling in my stomach as if they were going to fall on us, so I stood close to brother, holding onto his arm with all of my strength. From there, the memories faded into remembrance of Devil’s Tower. I remembered my brother climbing on the massive rocks that had fallen from the monument, with my Daddy close to him in case he fell. I remembered standing next to my mother, as she watched the two on the rocks. I remembered her short, curly brown hair, tan skin and brown eyes. Life seemed. We bought completely new mattresses, side bumpers and linens for them.There were boxes of sterilizers, baby bottles and breast pumps. They were dug out ready to be cleaned if Jenny wanted to use them.
