"I mean, shit, this is only my fifth trip, but I'm hooked. I like the Canyon and I like the life." He took a deep breath and continued. "I guess what I'm saying is that I wouldn't mind picking up some stuff that might lead to my being a trip leader someday." Ahh, you are hooked," Crystal grinned. "Look, you realize that in the short term there's probably not going to be any trip-leader spots open at Canyon Tours, don't you? Bill is leaving this season, and Scooter is already earmarked to take. I didn’t see Lotta doing it without some kind of feelings towards me, especially given we’d developed a bit of a friendship. But using those feelings against her to, in effect, steal her virginity, seemed to me to be an evil act. It wasn’t quite rape, but it sure came close to it, especially with the way Katt wanted me to do it. And that would make the situation with Annie seem like a walk in the park.I wouldn’t call Lotta or write to her. The best thing to do was to just let this all pass.
