She saw Vic walk over to Jon, probably trying to get him to stop fidgeting.Vic was Jon's polar opposite. Maybe that's why they got along so well. Vic was the typical American boy, thick blonde hair stylishly cut, and bright cornflower blue eyes. He too was fit but wasn't as tall as Jon. He was about 5'10". "I would thank her and sometime blush, if the sexual innuendos were even more obvious."Is it hard?" Rhonda asked."Excuse me?" I replied, as I blushed. Honestly, I was VERY hard at this point."Is it hard? ...you know" she repeated herself, "to stand on that ladder reaching up so high as you work." It's not that bad." I answered.At this point, Rhonda walked up to the ladder and offered to steady it as I reached for the final piece of trim. When I thanked her for her concern and help, I found her. "How was your evening?" But she ignored my question."Good," she breathed to herself with a wicked arch of her eyebrow. "You've got some work to do." She stared, smiling triumphantly. I struggled to maintain eye contact while she pressed me. "Whenever you're ready," she said softly, and began to close the door, "Stud."Bitch. There was no better than her when it came to rubbing it in. "Fair's fair, and you lost the bet, smart guy" is all she says. I should have known she wouldn't let this thing. I usually turned in any papers I'd written well ahead of the deadline.Unlike me, Kathryn liked to procrastinate and dither. She usually started studying the night before a big test. She never finished any papers she needed to write before the actual due date. She lived on the edge, playing some form of Russian roulette, or at least a game of 'chicken'. This might have worked for her back in high school in Texas, but it wasn't working for her at all here at Middlebury. She was a super.
