I was assigned to a well known merchant bank office block in about 1986 and as usual got chosen for night shifts. I never minded nights as though it W...sn,t easy to stay awake things were usually much quieter with not many staff around. This office block was near Moorgate in the City Of London, the building at least 200 years old and a listed historic building. As with most merchant banks they often stayed open later to handle calls from mostly the USA so telephone staff would work till 11pm.
