The witch lay before me; Twilight had pierced her body and then pinned it to the ground. She looked at me, "How? ... You were under my control ... you...couldn't have fought back." She grimaced as Twilight drank deeply of her soul, draining it out of her to leave a lifeless husk.As I watched her die I could feel her power being removed from me, eradicating whatever it was she had done to me. "What happened?" I said aloud."Sorry about that, Boss, but when you called me I was only able to activate. “I kind of got the impression that you wouldn’t be happy about me doing it. It means I have to spend more time with Marcel and less time home.”“I know,” I told her.“And you’re ok with that?”“I am,” I lied, “I trust you.”She jumped up and climbed into my lap kissing me all over my face. “I love you, Bill,” she said. That’s when she completely blew my mind and left me dazed and confused.“So, then you’ll be ok with me taking the certification course? It’s a little expensive, five-thousand. “That’s the car pulling up to the train station now,” said Bess as she finished her candy bar. Nancy Drew and her two friends were sitting in Nancy’s blue roadster across the street from the train station.“That’s him all right,” said Nancy as she watched the man enter the front door of the depot. “It’s almost four o’clock too.” Not more than five minutes after the train dropped off its passengers Nancy observed their man accompany the Oriental woman to the car and open the door for her. He was. The woman is slim, well built and pretty. The car that was in back of me passes and I see that it is a state cop. He didn't even slow down to see if the woman needed help. Bastard!I slow down and pull off of the road and onto the shoulder. I stop about 30 feet in back of the Honda and put on my flashers and shut off the engine. The woman looks apprehensive, not sure of my intentions. I walk up to her and start to ask her what the problem is. To try and allay her fears I stay several feet away.
