I pulled over to the side of the road, but there was not much of a shoulder, so the officer, through a sort of bullhorn, directed me to pull into the ...est stop that was about 10 feet ahead. For a fleeting second I thought about leaving, but I knew I would only be making it worse, so I pulled into the rest area.
