I was amazed how easy school got at this point now that i only had one girl in my life to worry bout. Our first date was different from others, i took...her to a 4th of July city picnic. we had fun but once that was over i walked her through the park , it had to be after eight which was my curfew but i didn't care. i finally got her home but i tried to finish our good day together with a kiss. well she took control and it had to be a good ten minutes of making out on her doorstep. that night. My parents divorced and my brother Paul and I lived with my dad while my sister Lee and baby brother Travis lived with my mother. This was ok with me because I never liked how my mother treated me and Paul and I were very close with my dad. During the summer my mother talked my dad into letting us visit with her in Virginia, which ended up us staying there for two years. When people learned I was from Miami they seem to avoid me like the plague. Like I was some big city gangster out to steal. Fortunately Sarah made a rapid physical recovery. Her mental state took longer and it was difficult for me to help her. Of course I made sure she had the best medical care and paid for her stay at the Redwood, but emotionally I was unable or unwilling to muster the courage to do all the things her therapist recommended. For awhile I could hardly stand to be in the same room with her for any length of time. Had I not witnessed her self-destructive meltdown that Sunday morning – my wife dressed.
