At this point I could still have carried on walking and gone home but I looked round to see if I could see anyone I knew if I had I would have carried...on but no one was in sight and I just looked at him and said "ok" he smiled and said "come baby girl" and walked into the office I followed and he took my hand and walked past the pool table to a door at the back which he opened and led me into a narrow dark passage, at this point I became scared and thought what the fuck am I doing I turned. I frantically felt for the chain and pulled that out. There was nothing on the end, only the wire loop that the wallet had been attached to. ‘I don’t believe it,’ I said to the barman. ‘I’ve been robbed.’ And then I remembered the geezer’s wallet I’d just nicked and got that out. I opened it.I couldn’t believe my eyes. Not a credit card in sight, and. Jane is there. She can tell something is wrong. She must think the worst. I don’t know what to do. A part of me is excited at the possibilities, another part if upset that I studied so hard for seemingly nothing, another part is upset for Dan. I don’t know what he’s going through.
