Lacie followed the submissive girl across the hall into her room. Lacie recognized the same layout in Lindsey’s room as she had in Claire’s room, ...nly flipped end for end. Lacie wondered if all the girl’s rooms were designed with the same floor plan. Lindsey’s room was much cleaner, but hints of Claire’s style had crept into her decorations. A lot of black decorated the walls, but Lindsey’s bed was smaller than Claire’s, cleaner as well. The room had splashes of pink everywhere, mixed with. I didn't see Steve or Butch while I finished up lifting weights, but when I got to the locker room and headed for the showers, I heard the water running and figured they were cleaning up themselves.I was shocked when I walked in and saw Steve on his knees in front of Butch. Steve was 6'6", athletically thin with blond hair and green eyes, he was probably in his mid-20's and I thought he was in grad school. Butch was 6'6" as well and was huge with muscles rippling everywhere. He competed in. Linda absents herself often, and even when she is near she does not speak much but lets Danny and me talk without taking part. This is much as it is when I am in my own hearth, the men talking among themselves and the women making their own separate talk or doing other things. When it was so I accepted it, it was the way of our people, but now it does not seem to me so good. Linda is not less than we men, and it does not seem right that she be shut out of our talk.To begin Danny asks me to tell. “I’m Daniel,” the man counters, offering her a smile. “Have you been here long?”Beth returns the smile. “Too long.” She turns around and begins to walk away.Daniel quickly goes to follow. “Are you friends with my wife?” he asks to her back.“Something like that,” the girl answers without looking back. “Let’s just say that we’re becoming closer.”Daniel shrugs. He doesn’t know what that means, but the girl seems friendly enough. He can’t see his wife getting too acquainted with everyone so quickly.
