I realized I was checking her out as she searched for a name, but I couldn’t help but stare. She was so pretty! “Ah, here it is, a Mr. Jon…” “Yes, that’s me,” I said as I cut her off.. Del's homeless, pure and simple. Some years back, he owned a fancy restaurant. A woman did him wrong, and he got into the hooch. Lost his fancy restaurant. Then lost his home." This hallway had doorways into 4 bedrooms with each pair having inter-connecting doors. As one of the youngest, I got packed off to bed early. One of my visiting uncle’s daughters was put up in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. Now my hallway cot had my head pointed towards that bedroom door while it was placed down the hall far enough to not block the doorway into the adjoining bedroom - which had its door partly open. Now comes the good bit ... the connecting door between those two. A near silence fell in theunderground chamber as the rope was secured.
