I was literally stunned by her beauty and could not move my eyes from her. She asked me “what happened?” I replied back, madam you are looking ver... beautiful and your husband is really a lucky person that he got married to you. She just smiled and said nothing.While we were taking the lunch, she asked whether I have a girlfriend in college and I told her that I do not have any girlfriend. She asked me the reason and I told her that there are few girls in my college and I do not have special. She appeared to be the typical housewife, quite pretty and plump, with permed hair. She smiled at me and took off her lightweight coat and sat opposite. I thought nothing of it and after a few more stops she engaged me in conversation which I reluctantly joined in.It was the usual stuff – weather, etc – and then she asked where I was stationed and said that she lived just 10 miles from the camp. ‘Isn’t that an all-male place? Where do you go for female company?’After fobbing her off, I went. I met his wife and saw them out in the yard quite a bit the summer I first owned my house. Again, normal couple.The house came with a pool and I had that thing up and going quick. When the guy (let's call him Bob) was over he would joke about getting in and I always told him if I was home he was welcome to use it. He'd helped a lot with the house and never asked for anything in return so I didn't care.Eventually, he started getting comfortable enough to ask me about my girlfriend and making. Fate intervened ten years after our loving week in Paris. There was a conference in Paris again the week before our tenth anniversary. Our respective employers had decided to send us to Paris to attend the conference. I was notified first of the conference and my attendance there. I called Shelley on the phone, “Hello, mon cheri, ca va? I have some wonderful news for you today. You know in eight weeks our tenth anniversary is coming. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could meet in Paris to celebrate.
