Mother had a down comforter, which wasn’t a whole lot better. At what must have been about 11:00 o’clock, I called out, ‘It’s just too damn co...d to sl**p. I’m going to come get in bed with you and maybe between my blanket and your comforter we can generate enough heat to get some sl**p.’ Mother agreed and I felt my way along the wall, through the door to her bedroom, and into her bed, dragging my blanket behind me. It was pitch dark because the candles and long since burned out. I lay facing. I could feel Kyle in the back of my mind, curious as to how he could feel so much for two such different women and wondering how he could manage to satisfy both of them. At least for the time being he didn’t need to worry about that.I lay there, stroking Laramie’s soft skin, and letting her presence overwhelm my senses. I inhaled deeply of the scent of her body and hair. Hygiene was different when you lived in the wilderness. Not bad, but less stringent than in uptime. Laramie’s scent was. So I put on a short, tight skirt with tights, boots and a sweater. The sweater was the type that most would wear with an undershirt I did not. It was cold, but the air was almost refreshing on my bare nipples, that poked through the holes in the sweater. We enjoyed our dinner, but about half way through our meal, I saw his face change. He looked at me like he wanted me, no needed me, its the look that makes my stomach tighten up with anticipation. He told me to flash him, and I did. I was. A wall of cool wet night air hits me as I jog down a set of stairs and to the street. Unlocking my bike I check the ties as I try and wake up. Last week one had broken in the middle of a four-way intersection and I had eaten it hard earning my the new scar on my forehead and some colorful bruises.Still, it was better than walking I thought as I peddled past cars and into the downtown. Traffic was lighter than usual as I peddled past empty alleys and dark storefronts. Focusing on just the road.
