It's one of my favorites and I've finally expanded upon it. During the next two days Jane busied herself by browsing the internet looking for another job, desperately trying to get an interview before she had to tell her husband the horrible truth. Both of their minds felt shielded but it didn't stop me reading their emotions. I guessed I probably couldn't interfere with their emotional state, not that I would. I guarded my thoughts carefully, unsure how much they would be able to read.The white haired man's attention swept across us."Hey!" said Jane angrily, "it's terribly rude to invasively read someone's mind without even asking!"He snorted and shifted his focus to me.
