Wouldn’t want my little sis to think I was a slob.In about half an hour Meg came into my office wrapped in a bath towel.“Did you order the pizza yet?”“Just about to. You want to do it? The menu is on the fridge.”“Oh, I know what I want ... everything but anchovies!”“Sounds good to me. Leave off the broccoli, though.”“Ick!”Meg padded barefoot. "Oh nothing, just ... girl talk" was Nina's reply. Up close the singer was even more of a contradiction than on stage. There wasn't anything about her appearance that Ray could single out, and yet there was a definite aura about her -- and Ray didn't even believe in such things. He decided to change the focus of the conversation, smiling to Nina and complimenting her on her stage presence and the band's musical chops. She thanked him gravely, then slipped away quickly to get ready for the next. I just gave him a coy smile to keep him happy. He really was a letch. The real shock however came next. He had bought my act completely, but said," I like you Robin, a whole lot, so how bad do you want this job?" I wasn't sure what he asking and said, "I'm sorry, I don't follow ya." He continued," I mean what are you willing to do to get the job?" I didn't like the sounds of that but was in too deep now. "Anything, of course," I replied. With that he stepped closer to the couch, still puffing. Phillip drove up immediately (He lives in Marshall) to see if it was him. Phillip said he noticed right off it wasn’t chucks but Sandra swore it came to the right house and looks like him. Finally I asked her to check his teeth. Numchucks had lost half his teeth in his old age. This dog had a full set of teeth and healthy too. Later Sandra found the owners and returned to lost lab to it’s home. But the Legendary Numchucks had made such an impression of being a miracle dog that I couldn’t put it.
