We had a very pleasant dinner. We didn't talk a lot and when we did it was about nothing of importance. When we had finished dinner we went into the b...r and found a quiet table in the corner where we could talk without being disturbed.Carrie spoke first. She said, "How do you feel about what has been going on?"I said, "You mean how do I like watching you go out, knowing that you are going to have sex with another man? Well I have to be honest. The girl saw what was happening and made one last effort to get away, struggling and yelling for help as loud as she could in the vain hope that some passer-by would hear her and come to her rescue. But even if someone had somehow entered the building he wouldn't have heard anything, because her voice had gone completely hoarse. As Lennie began to spurt he swung the hammer, bouncing it awkwardly off her left temple, dazing her but nothing more. He swung again, but this time he was. Now Kathy was genuinely frightened. She asked tremulously what Ali meant. Sandy, although visibly pale beneath her tan, asked, "Ali, do you mean... Kapalua?" Her voiced was hushed as she spoke the last word. Sandy was so upset she could scarcely talk. Even as she spoke, her voice kept breaking and her words were. Sarah was understandably reluctant to lend me any of herunderwear- including tights- but she said that if I gave her some moneyshe'd go shopping for some additional underwear I could store at herhouse whenever I wanted to 'dress up'.All this bring us to today, 22nd October, mere weeks after I first metSarah. Today's the day she's going to help me realise my dream- she'sgoing to help me finally be a girl, in my own little clique.I knock on Sarah's front door with a massive sense of anxiety.
