That was what she had worn here. She had changed after she arrived.Even more unbelievable was what she was doing. Her left hand was holding a magazine... I could tell right away that it wasn't one of our magazines, because it had a centerfold. And if Mom ever found a magazine with a centerfold, Dad and I would both be looking for work as eunuchs. Laura's right hand was underneath her cute little skirt. Her eyes were slightly unfocused as she studied the centerfold, and the tip of her tongue was. Her upper body flopped down until Suzanne supported her sister’s head with her arm. “You bastard,” she wanted to scream, but all that came out was “baa baa.” Tom laughed. He could see the hate in her eyes. Tom handed the bottle to Suzanne. “You are the big sister,” he said. “You have to take care of her. You can start by feeding the baby.” Suzanne raised the bottle to Jennifer’s mouth. Jennifer quickly turned her head away. There was no way she was going through with this charade. “Oh, Jenni,. We looked over the wine list and Jenny picked out a couple that she thought would be good. Even though I was not a wine drinker it was good wine.We listened as the waiter went through the entrees. All of them sounded good. I settled on an all you can eat seafood and pasta sampler with a salad and another bottle of wine for the table. We took another bottle of wine to carry to the room.It was a wonderful meal; one the gym equipment was going to have to counteract the pounds we girls would put. I did not get dressed at all that week, but on Friday after school, thefirst thing I did was take a bath and shave myself all over, then I gotdressed. I wore the pleated green skirt with a white blouse and my flats,my makeup just barely there, and for the first time I was able to wear apair of my new earrings, the gold dangly ones. I started dinner, set thetable, and waited for mom to come home. Mom was late, but I did not startto worry until it got to be over an hour, which is when I called.
