The group has a wonderful time at the club and John dances a couple of dances with Emily and Anna as well. Finally they all decide they have had enoug... dancing and drinking and it’s time to head home. As they are leaving the club and move into the darkness towards the SUV John is struck by the emptiness he feels most of the time in his life and how vibrant he has felt this evening with these vivacious young women. John began feeling somewhat lost and disordered as they headed home. His life. Her red hair was done up high with ringlet curls dipping down, framing the sides of her face. Her make-up was overdone but not trashy, sort of theatrical. Her glossy red lips matched her shoe color and they looked plump and wet. She stood there a moment looking around for me. I stood up and waved to her. She finally saw me and with the sexiest smile on her face, she slowly strutted across the stunned barroom to me. I didn't know whether to shit or go blind. I couldn't believe how sexy. I instantly knew that it would be a day filled with distraction, no hope of anything sensible penetrating my already dizzied mind. As I sat, headphones buried in my ears, intoxicating sounds started to take on new meaning, filling my head. Portishead’s honeyed tones taunting me, as I sat starring out the window, questioning over and over what was happening to me.The day proceeded as expected, my futile attempts at concentration failing, as I surreptitiously glanced at my phone, black teasing. I told her to look up and she saw him and just stared with a glazed look on her face. She told me “open the door.”I said that would not be a great idea. She then in a more demanding voice, “ open the fucking door and let him in.” Like I said before she had complete control by this time and I was just trying to understand who I had married and was thrilled that I was the lucky one to get her all the time.I opened the door and he never hesitated to come right in. I closed the door and he walked.
