Amber answered the door wearing only a towel neatly wrapped and tucked around her hair. She was fresh from the bath and perfumed with an intoxicating, subtle, exotic. Obviously, I couldnt wear a bra with this but my husband didnt seem to mind. The dress was short, probably six inches above the knees, I didnt bother with nylons. I went for the vamp look in the make-up, darkening my eyebrows, dark eye-liner and shadow and deep red lipstick. My husband hates to be late, so at 8:00 on the dot, we started across the parking lot to the restaurant. It was chilly out and I had forgotten a coat, all I had was a shawl. My husband put his jacket around me and kept his. I was in my last year of high school. It looked like I would have to find a job when I finished, instead of going on to college as we'd planned. I knew it wasn’t her fault. She was working as a bartender, and that didn’t pay much. I worked part-time to help out, as dad had just up and left and we had no idea where he now lived.
